Presentation-wise, the game is more solid than spectacular. They suddenly come alive and surround you before you can defend yourself.

After a little cosmetic-code surgery, and the addition of "Altered Species" as part of the title, the game is being released on the PS3. Lloyd is deemed suited for the task at hand as he's the only human to ever survive an encounter with the Nightwalkers. The B-movie plot allows for some corny dialog, so expect to chuckle on occasion at some of the overly serious delivery. For some time now, mankind has been battling the ferocious and terrifying Nightwalkers, a race of superhuman vampires who crave human blood. He's part of a special military squad created by the American government to tackle the threat known as Nightwalkers. As always, I suggest rent or borrow the game first before spending your money...and in some cases you may review and/or download the game for play at some of the online gaming sites, either with your PC and/or your PS3 if you have the cable and service.

Because trophies weren't introduced until July 2, 2008, but the Playstation 3 had already existed for two years by that point, some games that were released early in its life cycle do not have trophies. Fortunately, it's not these characters that give you a headache by getting in your way or failing to take cover, it's the gameplay design. The instant that you make a noise or walk into their line of sight, it's game over. Gamers take the role of John Lloyd, a member of a US special government unit created to defeat the Nightwalkers, and the only human to ever survive a physical encounter with them. That is until you make your presence known. I've not yet tried the multiplayer, but I've only recently picked this up and don't know if it's still supported.
