Grodd adds that Solovar wants to rule humanity as well and intends to conquer Earth-1. Once arrived Solovar and Grodd indulge a fierce fighting that ends with Grodd falling from a building and crashes. Solovar then claims that Barry and his team must have come to study the gorillas for potential weaknesses or, worse, to make them their pets.
With the entire UN assembly transformed both mentally and physically into gorillas, the JLA act swiftly to minimize damage and loss of life. After Solovar's defeat, Barry refuses to kill him and spares his life. In season six, a mental manifestation of Solovar appeared as a gatekeeper preventing Barry and Grodd's minds from separating, forcing them to work together to defeat him.

Solovar prepares to finish Grodd but Barry asks him to spare the ignoble gorilla before the gorilla army returns home with Solovar, again becoming their leader. Grodd's plan successfully lure the Flash coming to Earth-2 where he challenges Solovar to a fight in the arena. This was all Grodd's idea who now has the means to go through with his plan. Solovar is the benevolent ruler of Gorilla City and an ally of The Flash and Kid Flash.
He is one of two Gorilla City inhabitants who have psychic powers, the other being the evil Gorilla Grodd. However, he does not phase his hand fast enough to kill Solovar, merely fast enough to knock him out.
While the JLA retreat to their moonbase to find a cure, Prince Ulgo appears before the United Nations to formally declare war on the human race.
Motives. Grodd claims that he has come to make a deal with Barry. After Solovar is defeated, Grodd is able to take command of the gorillas.
