I was able to do BOTH jobs with BOTH of the characters in my game at first but now it is not working. I would much like to see this issue resolved.I don't know whether you've found a solution or not but I had the same issue and found a fix for anyone else looking for the help. I found my fix.. go to a park or any other lot stay there the whole time until its time for your sim to go to work.. and then it will pop up the option to join or send you're sim to work. 1,413 people had this problem. If you accidentally cancel the go to work action (or it has otherwise disappeared), click your sims' phone for the option to "Go to work" (or school!) BTW I have tried traveling with the sim, changing outfits, removing the cache and removing the mods.Did you try taking out all your mods at once?
Hi @mikala209 since you use mods or cc, it is bound to be the cause; that is the first thing to check, you said you removed a few; but updating / checking for updates of any you can especially Game Mods. Later on, the whole lot aged up and then regressed spontaneously, so this one was small potatoes for me, but if it's related it might help to have the additional information.Do you have the issue in a new game as well? Problem might also occur if you save/load while you have a gig active. Normally, this option is disabled by default. I think at the time this happened, I only had The Sims 4. Do you think that Origin or EA will be making any updates to help work through some of the issues that people have been having in the sims 4 get to work expansion pack?
And I want to make it clear that I know that you are only supposed to be able to go to the careers within the pack (scientist, detective, doctor, or retail) and not the other careers that were there before. I re-opened my game and I was able to rejoin my sim in the work place. I have the holiday expansion, Spooky Stuff, and Go To Work. Cracking the hard cases and finding the right clues can help your Sims become the Chief of Police someday. I'm still not sure what the issue was but after completely restarting the game and re-installing the mods and cc it's completely fixed. With uninstalling and reinstalling you're just removing the game files and putting them back.I have tried just moving my mods folder and re-starting the game to see if I had a bad mod or something, which made no difference so I will just move the entire sims4 folder to see if it makes a difference. but she won't go to work.
In terms of the link you posted, I don't have that problem my sim will simply just not move at all, if I tell her to go to work the sim action just disappears and they just stand around as if nothing was clicked at all.

That is so weird but as such the work thing is the only issue I have had. With something like a conversation, this can be quite some time! Do not travel, Go to CAS, the Map, Household Manager or reload the save game until you get the pop-up to go to work. Just place the mods folder outside the EA folder and test your game.
Now the two careers (doctor, and detective) work just like the careers did before I got the expansion pack. To fix this, you need to cancel the conversation manually, by clicking the action in the action queue in the bottom left. I can still do the retail career, but it won't allow me to go to the detective career or the doctor career with them. Mods are disabled in-game: Sims 4 introduced a new option where users can decide whether to enable the mods or not. Play good cop/bad cop. )I had a similar issue.
