Most of the underlying information was not new for me but I enjoyed the author’s detailed descriptions and stories around different points However, for someone who is exploring the topic the information may not be organised very well (the author’s mind map way of organising didn’t make sense to me because I might have made different connections if I had mapped this information on my own) and just feels like a light read without an objective. Strong book that helps people connect their work with a greater purpose. Also, noDefinitely should’ve read this 10 years ago as it would have changed the way I thought of design and what you can design. The book attempts to introduce the philosophies that propelled IDEO to the top of the world in design strategies and innovations, not at the level of making something look pretty, but at radical shifts in perception and usage. It would have been much better if he concentrated on just a few clients/ideas rather than trying to say everything in one book. I think IDEO may be one of the coolest companies around today and was hoping that reading Tim Brown's "Change by Design" would provide a technicolor version of not only numerous specific projects IDEO has undertaken, but how they do what they do.
