Way too many for an hour and a half film -- I feel like I said this in my review of TFV, but it bears repeating: even Kill Bill was split into 2 films so all the villains could receive ample screen time. The dastardly Wu Tang Clan has aligned itself with the court of the Qing dynasty and is looking to destroy the Shaolin temple across a unified China, as the Shaolin side with the former Ming dynasty and seemingly just annoy the Wu Tang with their existence. there's some suprsingly funny/brutal moments with a pretty impressive finale, and an equally surprising final kill.Another Shaw Bros movie....this one was kinda boring with a good finale...about two brothers getting revenge against the bad guys....A bit of an odd one. After closer inspection of the disc its clear the video transfer is from the Celestial Pictures version and that's a bonus for fans of this movie.
It's Lo Meng's most memorable performances whose showdown with fellow Venom Kuo Chue is artistically violent while being graphically artsy. It’s particularly tragic as these two clans might destroy each other because of petty differences. Also, chin siu-ho displays a decent early career performance before going on to starring in one of my all time favorites, tai chi master with jet li. Recommended. *hahaha* Unglaublich!! I think by the end of it, there are 7? Director Chang Cheh reunites the Five Venoms in his second biggest cult hit in the West. Meng Lo, Philip Kwok, Feng Lu, Pai Wei, Chien Sun, Sheng Chiang often appeared in movies together.
