Granted we recognized that it's a bit inconvenient to do that and workers just wanna go home.. however she had the worst attitude as if we came in 2 minutes before closing or something.I came here around 2 o'clock on a Saturday and it was really busy and full. Not only was the boba bad but they put too much in my drink I felt like I had a mouth full of boba with each sip I took. The boba itself it's chewy and it's $6.00 which is decent for us because SF is way more expensive than here for boba. They have some pretty unique and a large variety of drinks available. My favorite was the HK milk tea, as it was really fragrant. Tea has always been my beverage of choice. The boba wasn't good either it was way too hard and practically had no flavor. Not very flavorful and not to mention that it tastes nothing like what a Hong Kong milk tea would even taste like. Not a fan of the chairs as they don't invite comfort especially on your bare legs in the summer but otherwise lovely. Do yourself a favor and order the "shakerrado". And there was only one barista so it took about 15 mins to get our drinks.finally found a boba spot that tastes comparable to bay area boba! Overall, strong tea taste, and drink didn't taste diluted/ overly sweet. Additionally, more than half of our drinks are consumed for here in reusable mason jars and when you purchase a reusable kanteen in our shop, one of your drinks is on us. Cool 2. Boba was unacceptably hard and also unsweetened. Their sad excuse for a HK milk tea makes it obvious that it is not an asian owned business. We take pride in blending and brewing our teas by hand, detail-oriented preparation, and using locally sourced ingredients.I would give it 5 if they just asked me if I needed a straw as weird as it sounds I carry metal straws with me, a normal sized one and one with a larger diameter for when I get boba. Our goal is simple: to make high quality tea approachable. I did grab a rose croissant and it was fantastic.
At 23, I opened Tea Bar after moving back to Portland from living in China for 2 years. I tried the HK milk tea. Made for Instagram, Tea Bar is a minimalist take on boba. Best croissant I've had outside of France. The workers there are very nice, but their accuracy is not up to par. From the drink to the overall experience, it was definitely a downer. I love it.
